The Report of Swimming Team 1997-1998
The Wah Yan College Kowloon Swimming Team has achieved great things this year. We ranked overall the second among all schools. Next year, we will be promoted to Division 1.
This year, we began the training in early September and it was held three times a week. The attendance was extremely high and we worked very hard in order to be promoted.
Two invitation relays were held in the early October before the Inter-school Swimming Competition. These relays not only tightened the relationship among schools, they also gave us a chance to familiarize ourselves with the atmosphere of the Inter-school Swimming Competition.
We ranked very high during both Day 1 and Day 2 in the Inter-school Swimming Competition. Before the finals, we already forecasted that we could promoted to Division 1 the coming year. This gave our teammates even more confidence to perform better than we would have on the finals.
In order to stay in Division 1, most of our swimmers spent time in their summer vacation to train. Staying in Division 1 allows our swimmers to gain more experience through 'real' competition. In the future, I hope we will be able to have a high ranking in Division 1.
On behalf of the swimming team, I would like to thank Mr. Norman So, our coaches, and Mr. Alan Wong and Mr. Tang Wai Choi who have given us unlimited support.
